MARGE 17th March 2008

"TOP DOG" Franny, It's been 33 years since you passed away. Your dearly missed and thought of every day. You & Hazel missed out on so much... what more can I say? You have a Granddaughter named "Jeannie"... by the way. John, Joe & our family's look forward to seeing you again someday. I couldn't help but shed a few tears when I viewed the picture's on your memorial that I did to honor and remember you. I Thank-You & Margaret for all the precious picture's that were taken of us... God bless you two. Jay was 4 years old and Jerry was only 8 months when you died. Jay was your 1st Grandbaby and a boy to boot. He was your pride. I'll never forget the pain John felt and the tears he cried. You became my father-in-law the day I married your son "John", and became his bride. Joe's married to a woman named Terry. You didn't live long enough to get to know your 2nd Grandson "Jerry". John works on a lineboat...not a ferry. Your's & Joe's outlook on life was to drink and be merry. Joe & Terry's got two son's named Brad & Andy. That picture of you & Joe with your party hats on is hilarious...a gym dandy. I'm glad you gave Jay a cracker and not candy. You would have loved meeting your other Grandkid's and Great Grandkid's too. The memories we have of you will last us our whole lives through. Jay & Jerry were too young to remember you. Joe & Terry are living in Ft. Madison and doing just fine. When John & Joe get together they talk about you and their mom all the time. I'll never forget the Christmas's we spent all of us together. We had alot of fun spending time with you, Margaret, The Harts & Wagoner's no matter what the weather. John & I moved up here to the Quad-cities going on 24 years I'd guess. Well, are you proud of how successful John is on the river? Did he pass the test? John's always tried to do his very best. Joe works at La Mont Limited in Burlington, and John's a "Riverboat Captain" going on 31 years now. John's Alter Bargelines best success story and "TOP DOG"...Holy Cow! Poem by: Marge Hillgartner Franny & Hazel's Daughter-in-law Franny is dearly loved and deeply missed by all of us. xoxo
