MARGE 13th March 2008

Dad & Mom used to take me and Joe with them on Saturday's nights to the Eiben Inn where Joe & I would go into the back room where Ronnie Eiben had a pin ball machine and a race track and we'd hang out back there and have alot of fun! We always ate such great food there. It was something that we thought of as family night. Dennis Calhoun & I used to listen to the Beatle's and were good friends for a long time. Those were the good old day. That is probably one of my fondest memories with us as a family. Other friends & family used to go there too. That's where I met Brenda & Debbie Lowe. Marge & I used to live in Middletown trailer court and their brother Chuck and his wife Linda and two kid's lived right next to us. We got to see Brenda a few times when she'd be over to their trailer. She was at our house a few times but we lost touch with the when we moved back to Burlington. It wasn't the best environment for kid's to be raised in, but back then it wasn't anything like it is today in taverns. We knew most of the patrons who went there. We'd lay down in the back there and go to sleep until mom & dad were ready to go home. To this day Ronnie Eiben lives behind the tavern his parents owned and operated. Marge & I drove past his house last July and he was sitting out on his front porch in a chair. We were strapped for time or we would have liked to stopped and said Hi to him.
